I’m a 30 year old Londonner, though I grew up in north Scotland and moved south when I was 20. I’m told I don’t have much of the accent anymore.
Currently I’m freelancing, and have recently worked on ITV Text Santa managing the Twitter and Facebook activity for the month of the fundraising campaign. Both achieved follower levels over 15,000. I have also been involved in digital activity at Freud Communications including the Trafalgar Sun art installation for Tropicana.
I previously worked on user generated content and social media on the national NHS website, NHS Choices. I manage blogs and forums, several Twitter accounts (including @nhschoices @nhsnewsuk and @nhsc25k), postcast feeds and sites for other Dept of Health policy teams including Local Involvement Networks.
In 2009 I set up a personal blog about gay life in London, So So Gay. During 2010 I recruited a number of co-writers and contributors. By the end of the year I had handed over day to day editorial management of the site itself to an Editor I appointed, while I took on responsibility for developing the business. Today is is the UK’s largest online LGBT features-led lifestyle magazine. I manage commercial partnerships, social media profiles (@sosogay, facebook.com/sosogay.org) and technical aspects including ensuring our CMS, WordPress, works efficiently.
